I know why the Caged bird "Tweets"

Twitter -- Twitterfon -- Twitterberry -- Twitterrific! If you have yet to hear any of these terms being used within your inner-social circles, you can formally submit your paperwork to be withdrawn from the Cool Kids Club because you, my friend, are LATE!

TWITTER is the latest form of social networking and in the beginning of 2009, was ranked the third-largest social networking site according to Wikipedia. Twitter is considered to be the SMS txt service of the Internet which allows users to micro-blog text-based posts up to 140 characters in length and continually answer the proverbial question (at any given moment), "What are you doing?" or "Que paso?" for my compadres...

Referred to as "Tweets," these mini-blogs/message updates, are simply delivered to other users who have elected to "follow" you (meaning every time you "tweet" they can see it) and vice versa. You also have the ability to choose who you follow and who follows you. Users can send and receive updates through the actual website (Twitter.com) or on their cellular device using specialized mobile programs for some popular phone models such as the Blackberry (Twitterberry) and the iPhone (Twitterfon)!

One of the alluring features of Twitter is the sense of closeness you feel when you realize that you've just read a micro-blog from Diddy himself or just replied to Ashton Kutcher's tweet. Don't believe me, you don't have to! But many celebrities including Britney Spears and Ludacris have reported that while they may not actual check their own Myspace pages, they do "tweet" on occasion, some even manage to once per day, because of the convenience of doing so directly from their cell phones.  Although some tweets do seem to substantiate evidence of our failed school systems here in the states (Soulja Boy's tweeting about his YouTube blog intellectually-entitled "Rich N*gga Sh*t"), most messages are simply relaying peoples day to day functions.

GROUNDBREAKING...I know; but hey, this IS the latest piece of technology! I don't want you to be left out. So head over to www.Twitter.com and sign up for a free profile and play around with it. You'll thank me soon enough for adding to your social-networking addiction.

Don't forget to Follow the Keyboard Khronicles on Twitter!
