iPhone HOME!

With a new Social-networking site popping up every other week and my slue of business ventures that I juggle simultaneously, I have to have a mobile/cellular device that can keep up! But being the person that I am, I always want the latest and greatest (hence my BB Curve)! With this phone, I can reach any and everyone via any and every way! But, I'm bored! While the BB is a great phone and it seems like most business-savvy like minded individuals have one, I want something new! iPhone: This is just not going to work for me because me and touch screen just don't get along like that! I left the TREO series for this reason! While friends of mine who own Ms. 3G say that it doesn't give that problem, I'm not a fan of not having a Qwerty (full-press-able) keyboard! And AT&T and my pocket NEVER came to an agreement!

Instinct: Umm..If Im going to get a top of the line touchscreen, it would be an iPhone duh! So sorry Instinct, you just lost for being a biter! 

Is there really any other competition? I will say that I do like the BB BOLD (pictured below)by AT&T because I have played with it and it's nice ! So I guess what I'm really asking for is for SPRINT to step their game up and give me some options! 

Remember when their used to be like a new cell phone every other week that came out and you HAD to have it?? Have we reached the top??? Is there no where else to go from here?? Feedback KK, FEEDBACK!

It pays to be a SUPERSTAR: Now that's ILLY!

Rapper T.I., as you know, was sentenced to approximately a year-and-one-day prison sentence after pleading guilty in March to federal weapons charges in Atlanta. Well, it seem as though Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention that he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months. According to court filings, T.I. has to report to the court no later than noon on May 26Th! HOW U LIKE THAT???

Despite all the rumors about Mrs. Sheree Whitfield robbing Peter to pay Paul she was able to debut her fashion line titled: "She" !! During season one of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" she tried to debut her signature line but instead of going the professional route she let "Bonkeisha" sew her garments; and she ended up with a "fashion show with no fashions" <----Classic line from Dwight Eubanks!!

On her big night Sheree received support from fellow cast mates as well as some of the ATL's elite such as: Kandi Burruss (formerly of Xscape), Angie Stone, and Bobby Valentino; just to name a few. Ms. "I need 7 figures" looked stunning in her turquoise strapless dress with gold and hot pink sandals. But that nappy a*s ponytail was straight out of the wardrobe archives of the movie "ROOTS"!! Aside from that I can honestly say I like the look of her line. She has some couture pieces as well as your everyday chilling on Peachtree St. gear!

Bless me KK for I have sinned; its been a few days since my last confession. It took me forever and a day to read "Choose Me" by Xenia Ruiz...it was sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I had to put my Swifter to work just to read the darn thing!! N T Who...this book is very inspirational and uplifting. Since I'm in a confessing mood I must also add I wasn't to pressed to read it because it talks a lot about religion and the main character "Eva" is celibate. Two things that are not a consistent effort in my life!

From the inside cover: Two people. Two voices. Two unforgettable walks along life's most difficult roads. And two hearts struggling to understand God's divine plane--and the blessing of love...

I don't consider myself to be very emotional but when a book can get my tear ducts to work overtime than its damn well written! I love the fact that not only did this book offer up inspiring scriptures from the Bible that related to real live situations. It also let you know that there is ALWAYS someone in a worst situation than you. Keep faith and you can and WILL get through it! I took a journey with Xenia Ruiz through: Love, Faith, Death, Tragedy, Infidelity, Sickness, Health, and the Will to carry on! This book was wonderfully written, and a definite staple on my bookshelf. I enjoyed it thoroughly!!

This living' is soooo....MAGNIFICENT!!

Late; I know but KK puh lease understand that I D'Maine Truth do have a life outside of blogging, with Sir E having me jet set here and there on any given day covering numerous events, as well as my daytime job it gets "Deeper Than Rap" ! Word to the wise A.K.A. Mr. Curtis Jackson: you may not want to start beef with someone when there album is slated for a release during the midst of this beef. It will only heighten the curiosity of the album and make people like myself go and cop just to see what they will say back! The "Boss" doesn't dwell on 50 2 much he addresses him oh so cleverly in "Mafia Music"..and I quote "I love to pay her bills, can't wait to pay her rent, Curtis Jackson baby mama ain't askin for a cent. Burn the house down, we gotta buy another, Don't forget the gas can, jealous, stupid muthaf*cka. " *whispers* Curtis pick up ya lip and exit stage left, annnnnd thanks!

Not to let his album be out shined with just addressing the hatas he has some really nice cuts. As I said for a Rap album to hit home with me I need a few bangers for the ladies and I got 'em: "All I Really Want" feat. The Dream, "Magnificent" feat. John Legend (both have very nice videos to accompany the infectious chorus) as well as one of my favs "Bossy Lady" feat NeYo which gives props to all the HBIC's in the world (myself included). Not to mention he keeps it street as well with such tracks as: "Usual Suspects" feat. Nas "In Cold Blood" which the title is self explanatory. And what Rap album will be complete without a song braggin' about how you running thangs in his case MIA ; he put pimpin' to lyrics in songs like: "Maybach Music" feat. TPain, Kanye West and Lil' Wayne; as well as "Yacht Club" feat Magazeen.

I must say that I really like this album, and I like "Rickety Ross" his style of rap to me is very nonchalant. Being that he has West Indian roots he also infuses Patois into his music which comes off real smoove! Spittin' rhymes over the beats is effortlessly, he has this calm to his voice, even on the "hardcore" tracks he appears real melodious! LOL...quietly I have a slight crush on his big Teddy Bear a*s and was looking for him last year during Miami's Memorial Day Weekend!! I'm gon' go right ahead and give ya'll the go ahead to go and spend ya coinz on this album if you haven't already. It's definitely worth the duckets!

Sorry ladies; this one is officially "off the market!" *whispers* Ya'll know he's still up for grabs cause apparently he likes to share the goods; look at how many d*mn kids he done had on her!! It was reported that "T.I." and "Tiny" were going to seal the deal this weekend. Sources close to the future Mrs. Harris have said Tiny and her bridesmaids are working feverishly - making last minute plans to make sure that everything turns out perfectly. Tameka emailed me my invitation just this morning so I know they must be working hard at making this happens cause a traditional mail invitation would have taken too long! I WILL be in attendance and will be trying to snap some photos (low-key for you all) of the happy couple! Quietly I feel as though he can do sooooooo much better thou!  Am I the only one that thinks Tameka "Tiny" Cottle's is AWFUL!? I just don't see IT; there isn't N T thing cute about her to me..99.9% er'time I see her in photos she is a HAM = HOT A*S MESS!! ****SHADE****

PUSH IT Real Good :: Precious UPDATE!

Last month, KK introduced you to a great book entitled PUSH! Recently, the story transitioned into a film, sweeping the 2009 Sundance Film Festival winning three awards. You can now preview the AMAZING trailer HERE! at Tyler Perry's website! It's definitely a tear dropper! Stay tuned for it to hit theaters! I know I will be watching for it to hit! It's rumored, it might only drop in NY and LA first! Smells like 1kk-b to me!

Story of a champion...sorry I'm a Champion!

Ya Lost Won One!! Epiphany: An epiphany is the sudden realization or comprehension of the (larger) essence or meaning of something. ...and I must say that I had an "Epiphany" and realized that Chrisette Michelle will be a staple in my music collection.

I remember hearing her voice in Jay Z's song "Lost One" and was wondering to myself who is this girl who is d*mn sure holding her own next to one of musics best rapper!?! *Whispers* I didn't get her 1st album I Am but my mom did, that has to count for something. Either way I was still able to listen to it and found a new appreciation for her eclectic, soulful R&B sound mixed with Jazz, she was definitely giving me a modern NeoSoul vibe!

The title track "Epiphany (I'm Leaving)" sealed the deal for me and was the reason I copped her 2ND studio release. She stays true to form and delivers another solid CD! The duet with NeYo "What You Do" is a classic her ode to telling men I'm just not an arm piece "Porcelain Doll" is very nice and I hearts the message! And who doesn't adore a nice love song "Notebook" does that for me and makes me think of that someone special. As well as one of my faves "Blame It on Me" where she takes a stand against a man and tells him she's basically over it she's not going to cry N T more and you can say N T thing you want! VH1's reunion special host LaLa Vasquez A.K.A. Carmelo Anthony's baby mother got into it with some unruly fans last night in Dallas. Per LaLa: “Obviously playoff games bring out the best and the worst in fans but what happened on Monday night with the racial slurs / threats, verbal attacks on my son and physical attacks to myself by irate fans was completely unacceptable; the fans were totally out of control. What the cameras captured was me defending myself and didn’t show the abuse that was taking place.”

Ummmm just because your WHITE doesn't mean you're RIGHT!! What's wrong is wrong and LaLa had er'right to do what she did. I'm backing her 100% fan or not SWEET T; in the famous words of Mrs. Houston "Watch what the f*ck you say!" Oh but of course she gets escorted out looking like an irate black person while the white lady gets to sit there all Nilly Willy and enjoy the rest of the game. TSK TSK!!

From the Baltimore Sun:

For the past two months, the murder of Lemuel Wallace was another unsolved crime in Baltimore. The blind, mentally disabled man was found shot to death in a bathroom stall in Leakin Park February 5. Now, city police have charged a 32-year-old pastor with the slaying of Mr. Wallace and their account of the crime is a tale of greed and deceit made all the more despicable by the chosen victim, a vulnerable disabled man.

Mr. Wallace lived in a group home in the 4500 block of Maryknoll Road that was affiliated with Arc of Baltimore where the accused, Kevin Jerome Pushia, worked until he resigned in January. The alleged circumstances of the Wallace murder: a contract murder to collect on a series of insurance policies that were fraudulently taken out. Police allege Mr. Pushia convinced Mr. Wallace to name him as a beneficiary on several policies.

When someone tried to collect one for $200,000, the Globe Life Insurance Co. made a routine check with police, which tipped investigators off to a possible motive for the crime and their first suspect.

Fantasy Roller Coaster Ride?!?

What happen to the third time around being a charm? Instead of CiCi biting off more than she can chew, she needs to be in the studio working on some better tracks and/or vocals. Some of the tracks on her third studio release unexplainably entitled, "Fantasy Ride," are just as lame as the album cover!! KK's verdict: the album should have been titled "Roller Coaster Ride" = the album's flow and song selection go up and down leaving no room for consistency at OIL!!

Ballads like: "Lover's Thing" feat. The Dream & "Keep Dancin' on Me" are better than her uptempo songs such as: "Turntables" feat. Chris Brown which sounds like a knock off to Micheal Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" ! Not to mention that the swaggeriffic message in "Pucker Up" is over powered by a whack a*s pop, rave like beat! Of course, her radio released singles "Love, Sex, Magic" and "Never Ever" are bangers, but er rah her album leaves a lot to be desired. Don't be fooled by track #1 "Ciara to the Stage" because after that, it gets real mediocre!

NO SHADE, we here at KK still adore Little Miss Harris but this album really didn't do IT for us. But as sure as my shower is steamy, we'll support her because my girl can "1, 2, Step" with the best of em!

Must Read:: Who Does She Think She Is?....

Well if we're referring to Benilde Little I'm gon' go ret ahead and say a talented a*s author!! I really enjoyed this book. It was a definite page turner and kept me coming back for more and more. This is the 1st book I've read by Little but it will NOT be the last. Little is actually the best selling author behind the bestselling smash hit "Good Hair" ! What else can you expect from the creative genius that's an editor at Essence?!
This book touches on love, race, gender issues, as well as sex and fashion! I love the style that this book is written in; as if you are watching a movie IE: flashbacks, and POV from each main character. You get to know the life of the main characters.

I'm all for a great novel and good read, and I must say "Who Does She Think She Is?" is a very good read. If you are tired of the hood books (my boyfriend is a drug dealer, I wear all the latest designer clothes, my baby daddy dies, and I'm on the come up...) the this is something you'll enjoy. So 3000 + EIGHT!

Yep! One of my favorite groups, (including my play cousin Apl.De.Ap all the way on the right) The Black Eyed Peas, came to the premiere of the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine last week in Hollywood. Mainly, the group was there to support fellow band member and producer Will.I.Am in his role as Kestrel/John Wraith in the film (forever on his paper chase). Don't forget to cop that album The E.N.D. which drops June 9th!

I got 99 Problems....

But my KICKS AIN'T ONE! Now, everyone knows that Sir E goes innnn on a nasty high-top! I believe that the high-top sneaker is the epitome of all sneakers and absolutely looks great on ANY PERSON a lot of people! On one of my recent "Swipe-It Saturdays," I was approached by my favorite sales clerk at @ TOP SECRET Exclusive shoe store in the D.C. area (which shall remain nameless) with a Black/Red Supra! I have never really been a fan of Supras (mostly because of the wide look -- very reminiscent of a DC Shoe which I have plenty of) but when I saw this shoe, I became a believer. 

             Meet the Supra Society High Top from well-known professional skater (and Daughter Simmons ex-boo) T.K.! Oooh Weee! This shoe is definitely dope and is set for International Release on May 17th! But as sure as your toast is buttered KK'ers, I copped this shoe this weekend and have had them on since my BWI outbound flight (easier to leave thru that airport because the paps don't usually camp there)!

Must Read:: The Interruption of Everything....

I'm so ashamed of myself right now. I had purchased "The Interruption of Everything" by Terry McMillan about 3 years ago (published in July 2005) and I just finally finished reading it over the last 3 days! **Bows head shamefully** In my defense, it just wasn't giving "IT" to me when I flipped through them first few pages and if a book doesn't grab me instantly on that 1st page or two,  I can't be bothered ya'll (Bigger Catfish to fry)!

From the inside cover: Marilyn Grimes, wife and mother of three, has made a career of deferring her dreams to build a suburban California home and lifestyle with her husband, Leon. She troubleshoots for her grown kids, cares for her live-in mother-in-law, Arthurine (and elderly poodle, Snuffy); keeps tabs on her girlfriends Paulette and Bunny and her own aging mother and foster sister-all the while holding down a part-time job. But at forty-four, Marilyn's got too much on her plate and nothing to feed her passion. She feels like she's about ready to jump. She's just not sure where.

But trust me when I say that wasn't half of it; it gets better and better each page. I found myself sneaking to read it at work! I've should have known that Mrs. "A Day Late and a Dollar Short" (my all time favorite book) could have produced another master piece for me. **Wondering** (If they're going to turn this novel into a movie as they did: "Waiting to Exhale" , "How Stella Got her Groove Back" , or "Disappearing Acts" ???) Even if they don't it's always best to read the book first N T wayz because movies tend to leave out some of the best parts and this book DOES NOT disappoint. Hope ya'll enjoy it!
